Keeping Up with the Jones Act

US Trade Representative fees for Chinese-built and operated ships coming to the US will not bite everyone as deeply as feared but still have fearsome teeth for China. It’s also not a share of all US exports that must carried on US ships ahead, just LNG. Rather than removing the Jones Act, the US will align behind it to keep up with China.
