Since joining us in 2022, Sarah Theunissen - an Associate in Sustainable Business Development at Rabobank - has been behind key banking transitions, including advocating for a future-proof food system, and promoting sustainable energy solutions. Two key agendas for Rabobank, and the world.
Sarah likes to bring a fresh perspective to complex challenges, especially when it comes to developing more sustainable business practices. It is her mission to promote energy-efficient technologies, reduce electronic waste, and champion digital tools that support sustainability efforts for our clients.
Sustainable living
It all started with an innate passion for sustainability and working within the sector. Inspired by her love for nature and countless outdoor adventures, Sarah believes in living in harmony with our environment. Whether kayaking, hiking the 498 km long Pieterpad, or opting for a bicycle over a car, Sarah embodies sustainable living. Her experience working on a vineyard in Germany also taught her that happiness lies in small, meaningful actions.
This philosophy follows through in the work she does at Rabobank, where caring about the environment, and her career, go hand in hand. Within Wholesale Banking in Europe & Africa, Sarah engages with clients in the high-tech and digital sector. It is her mission to promote energy-efficient technologies, reduce electronic waste, and champion digital tools that support sustainability efforts. Sarah firmly believes that by taking even the smallest steps towards these missions can, and will, create a positive impact on our planet.
